EXHIBIT COMPETITION MECHANICS
Classification:

Description of Class:
RECREATIONAL – Recreational 4wd’s are vehicles can range from fresh from dealer showroom vehicle to vehicles with modification’s such as the following,
-
Suspension lifts with no more than 2 inches from standard
-
Engine mods are induction and exhaust (air filter, free flow exhaust) only
-
Tire upgrade is no more than 2 inches in diameter from standard
-
No drive train improvements
-
Body protection system is minimal ( bull bar, nudge bar, winch and mount)
COMMERCIAL – These 4wd drive vehicles are designed for heavy duty utility use, these vehicles will have minimal to no cosmetic improvements that are not necessary for working conditions. What to look for are the following.
-
No alloy wheels
-
Heavy payload capacity suspension
-
Body roll over protection
-
Tall and thin multi terrain tires
-
No fancy paint jobs
-
Bumpers are non factory standard
-
Enhanced cargo bearing capacity (heavy duty roof racks, trailer and trailer hitch, etc)
-
Standard factory engine
-
Traction aiding device (locking differentials)
SPORT – These vehicles are prepared for short track time trials and are usually stripped bare foe minimal weight and are especially equipped with extra safety equipment. What to look out for are,
-
Racing seats that firmly places the driver in the seat
-
4 and 5 point seat belts
-
Quick kill engine switch
-
Suspension lifts more than 3 inches from standard
-
Body protection system form roll over’s
-
Safety fuel cell, not a standard fuel tank
-
Vehicle recovery winch
-
Traction aiding device for the front and rear axles
-
Re geared differentials
-
Windshield are not required
SHOW – these vehicles have modifications that have little or no practical value in the very rough real world off road conditions, Things to look for.

Overly prepared and detailed paint jobs
-
Shiny and over chromed accessories and components
-
Oversized tires with axles that cannot handle the stress of the added weight of the overly large tires.

Overly done audio systems
-
Overly detailed engine and engine compartment
MECHANICS FOR JUDGING:
-
Participants in the competition are required to declare in what class is their vehicle being entered
-
Participants are not required to be informed of how the respective classes have been made
-
Judges are allowed to interview the owners of the participants vehicles
-
Participants are to be given time to talk about their vehicle
-
In the interest of simplicity of scoring each vehicle will be given a score of 1 to 5 with 5 being the highest
-
All the judges’ scores are to be tabulated and the vehicle with the highest tabulated score in their class is the winner.
