Image is everything when it comes to events. Successful events have a lot to do with choosing the right venue. So if you want your event to be remembered as one of the top in the metro, you should hold it where it will inevitably garner the reputation of being high-class and sophisticated. After all, “a name can make a world of difference,” as what World Trade Center Metro Manila’s (WTCMM’s) can rightfully claim with13 years of successful operation.
World Trade Center Metro Manila (WTCMM) is the only exhibition venue recognized by the Union des Foire des Internationale in the Philippines. It is the only member of the World Trade Center Association of New York in the country upon its opening of its first exhibition hall measuring 8,300 square meters in October 1996. Since then, WTCMM has become the favorite venue for various international and local events. (deleted portion.)
“We opened in October 1996 in time for the Asia Pacific Trade Show for APEC organized by CITEM. At that time there were no other venues of international standard and caliber dedicated specifically to exhibitions, (deleted portion). explains Ms. Lila Cailles, WTCMM Assistant Vice President for Marketing.
Soon after, bigger events like the 1996 Women’s Forum with Mrs. Hilary Clinton, Expo France ‘98, Manila F.A.M.E. Gifts and Houseware Fair, Philippine International Furniture Show, ASEAN Business Forum, Asia Food Expo, International Food Exhibitions, World Food Expo, Noel Bazaar, NU 107 Rock Awards, Manila International Motor Show, World Building Exhibitions (Worldbex), and Powertrends 2000+ preceded the myriad of events that have continuously been held at the WTCMM over the years.
“Yearly, we have 85 to 100 shows on the average. Exhibition planning normally begins 18-24 months early so reservation for exhibitions and trade shows come in that early. This timetable also allows us to assist organizers in their preparations. However, for non-exhibitions such as special events, bookings come in anywhere from 12 months or less. We are extremely flexible in terms of accommodating reservations for as long as there is no conflict on space availability and show profile,” elaborates Ms. Pamela Pascual, Vice President of Manila Exposition Complex Inc., the company that manages WTCMM and a member of the ICCP Group of Companies.
“We usually require an application for the reservation of the type of event, profile of the organizer and the concept of the project. These information are important for us to determine where and when we can position the event. This is our way of ensuring that we protect the interests of both existing events and the new ones. We plan the schedules strategically so that events of similar concept are not held too close to each other to ensure a bigger number of traffic and attendance for all the shows,” she adds.
Aside from exhibits, WTCMM has also become a favorite venue for special events like dinner parties, bazaars, product launches, company celebrations, sales rallies, weddings and graduations as well as concerts among others.
One of the reasons for the preference of WTCMM by event organizers is because it is stately nestled at the heart of Manila’s business and leisure areas. WTCMM’s accessibility to both foreign and local visitors, guest and exhibitors is well-assured. It is very near the Makati Business District, the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, first class hotels and major cultural and conference facilities (like PICC and CCP). It is almost just a stone’s throw away from the main seaports, major thoroughfares of Manila and the Metro Railway Transit as well.

WTCMM is the only venue in the country that offers the country’s biggest contiguous indoor exhibit space of 11,300 square meters at ground level. It can conveniently accommodate a massive exhibition at one time without giving the guests and exhibitors the inconvenience to move to different levels to capture the entire show. The loading bay can fit eight (8) cargo trucks at one time. Parking facility for as many as 534 cars and buses is likewise well-provided.
The years of professional experience in exhibition management adds to the expertise of the WTCMM team. Adds Ms Pascual, “the value-added service that we extend is unparalleled and makes a whole lot of difference in terms of convenience on the part of event organizers. This includes securing of permits, coordination with government and private units for safety.” We advise clients how to best execute their preferred setup based on our experiences.”
WTCMM is also affiliated with the World Trade Centers Association system composed of 326 WTC members in 92 countries around the world. This unique system allows WTCMM’s exhibitors exposure to the international business communities in other countries.

WTCMM’s unique differentiation is its network of WTCs all over the world. Events are promoted and announced internationally and this effort allows exposure of the Show to the international market.
It is all of these reasons why World Trade Center Metro Manila is world-class and of international standard and why it is a favored venue of major key players in event organization.
